National Novel Writing Month

Writing Wednesday: Happy National Novel Writing Month!

(Image)

Well, it’s finally here. Happy National Novel Writing Month everyone!

While the official goal is to write 50,000-word novel in 30 days, I encourage you to define NaNoWriMo in your own terms. Not into novels? Create a collection of short stories, pen a fanfic, or delve into the world of non-fiction with a memoir or essay collection. Don’t want to count every single word? Commit to writing a specific number of chapters or pages per day, or simply focus on filling every page of blank notebook. The possibilities are infinite. All you have to do is pick up the pen and start spilling ink across the page. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about getting the words out.

So, my fellow writers, I wish you the best of luck in whatever project you decide to tackle this month. May your creative well flow abundantly and your bouts of writers’ block be few and brief.

Happy writing!

Writing Wednesday: Writing Prompt No. 27 Monster Madness

Here’s your writing prompt for this week:

From Frankenstein to Dracula, monsters have always served as antagonists to be defeated by the dashing heroes. It is about time they got their due. Pick your favorite evil creature and rewrite the story from their point of view. Why do they do things they do? What made them who they are? Make your reader want to root for them.

Happy writing!
