This week’s prompt comes from a creating characters workshop I attended this weekend at the Philadelphia Writers’ Conference:
Everyone needs to eat, including your main character. Write a scene where your main character has to go buy groceries. When do they go? What do they buy? How do they shop? Do the make a list, or do they wing it? Do they stick to the store perimeter, or do they wander aimlessly up and down the aisles? Record your character’s journey from the moment they step through the entrance to the moment they pull out of the parking lot.
