It’s Okay to Only Have One True Friend

Facebook friends. Twitter followers. Instagram followers. YouTube subscribers.

It’s crazy how these numbers can impact how we see ourselves. Why did my number of followers drop from 250 to 245? Why does that channel have more subscribers than mine? Why didn’t anyone like the picture/link/whatever I posted on Facebook?

In the deep waters of social media, it’s easy to forget you’re worth is not measured on the quantity of your friends, but the quality of the people you surround yourself with. It’s not about the number of followers you have. It’s about the real people in your life that you laugh with, cry with, and share your deepest secrets with. They are the ones you who celebrate your high points, and the ones who help you build yourself back up during your low points. The support you and love you, and you do all those same things for them.

For some, the number is big. For others it’s small.

Sometimes, though, all you need is one.

It’s okay.
