It’s an impossible goal that we are obsessed with trying to attain with rules and standards society seems to change on a daily basis.
You can’t be too thin. You can’t be too fat. You can’t be too smart. You can’t be too dumb. You can’t be too quiet. You can’t be too loud. The list goes on and on. Flaws must be concealed and imperfections eliminated.
However, while we desperately try to squeeze ourselves into the molds of who everyone says we should be, we lose sight of what makes us who we are. Those little dents and scratches are what set you apart from the rest of the crowd. They give you character. They are a part of your story.
Let’s spend this first month of 2016 embracing what makes us the layered and complex creatures we are.
